Jobs was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, a middle-class couple who raised him in Mountain View, California, a town located in Silicon Valley.

As a child, Jobs showed an early interest in electronics and technology. He attended Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, where he met Steve Wozniak, who would later become his friend and co-founder of Apple Inc. After high school, Jobs attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, but dropped out after just one semester.
